Engaging in physical activity during pregnancy is beneficial. Besides contributing to increased energy and strengthening the body, exercise can prevent and treat some common pregnancy discomforts.

What is safe exercise?

The majority of exercise is safe and not more dangerous during pregnancy than usual. Most people who already exercise can continue doing so in much the same way during pregnancy, assuming there are no complications. The only activities that should be avoided are contact sports, sports with a risk of falling and injuring the abdomen, diving and high-altitude physical exercise.
