The pelvic floor consists of muscles and connective tissue forming a "floor" for our internal organs, including the uterus, bladder and rectum. Pelvic floor muscles play a crucial role in continence, preventing involuntary urination and are essential for sexual pleasure.

During pregnancy, one of the pelvic organs - the uterus - will grow significantly, increasing the workload for the pelvic floor muscles. Therefore, it's beneficial to strengthen these muscles through pelvic floor exercises.

How to do pelvic floor exercises?

Lie on your back or on your side with bent knees. Gently contract around the anus and continue squeezing forward, around the vagina and urethral opening, as if you were holding in urine. Try to create a lifting sensation in the pelvic floor.
